Stir-up at Polo How do you stir up things at Polo? You could wear an outrageous hat and a low cut sundress, but if showing cleavage is not your forte, then this is what to do. Do come to The Robert Mondavi Polo Cup and Risotto Stir-Up on Sunday, June 11, 2000. Besides the usual perfect polo playing Sunday, there will be many more attractions in store. The soiree will kick off with a reception by Mi Bella, Bellinis by Remy Amerique, Circle G Miniature Horses Exhibition and a preview of the Risotto Competition. Then, off to the fast and furious finals of the Robert Mondavi Polo Tournament with half-time tasting of The Mondavi Napa Valley Wines. And for the Coup deGras of the event, sampling the fabulous Italian dishes of Risotto, as prepared by some of Houston's finest restaurants, with Emporio Armani presenting the award to the best "stirrer-upper". Not exactly a boring way to spend Sunday afternoon, ey? Vying for that award will be: Academia della Cucina Italiana, Achille's, Arcodoro, The Arts Institute of Houston, Brothers Petronella, Carmelo's Italian Restaurant, Carrabba's, Ilva America, Italian Astronauts, Italy America Chamber of Commerce, LaReserve, Remminghton Grill, River Oaks Grill, Tony Ruppes, Simposio, Charles Watkins/Sierra Grill. Of course, Houstonians do nothing for nothing, so this tantalizing event will benefit the Italy America Chamber of Commerce of Texas, Inc., with Dr. Paolo Angelini and his lovely wife Surpic as honorary chairs. Dr. Angelini is a renowned cardiologist at the Texas Heart Institute and is a Professor of Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Surpic, is a writer, artist curator and also is the Director of The Transart Foundation of Houston. Should you have missed last several Polo Sundays, you poor thing, fret not.
