A Tony Night at Tony's
Clayton
and Debbie Brazier To anyone who is still debating the issue of size versus performance, here is an example that one apparently has nothing to do with the other. The gathering might have been small, but the results were big.
Carolyn
and Dennis Irvine'Twas ShowTime at Tony's, where Houston's Children Charity hosted its "A Tony Night on Broadway" benefit. More than 125 guests descended upon the tres elegant Tony's Restaurant and made it a most profitable Sunday evening for the Charity's annual spring benefit. And why not, the benevolent brigade paid handsomely to attend, whereupon they were lavishly fed with caviar, quenched with Martinis and satiated with Udo Uvezian Cigars. Rich
Little, Laura Rowe, Dave WardThe evening was further pumped up with everyones favorite Broadway tunes. The live auction was fast and furious and good times was had by all late into the night, and Laura Rowe, HCC's Executive Director was all a grin at the success of the event, which will benefit the many children causes, which the Charity supports.

Ode to St. John
Cindi
Rose, John Capizzi, Marie Gray This fashion show begun even before the first skinny model strutted down the runway. For this was the Houston Grand Opera and Neiman Marcus 11th annual fashion presentation, featuring the St.John Fall 2000 Collection. St. John designer and co-founder Marie Gray herself was there to meet Linda
Griffin, Sylvia Sullivanand greet the créme-de-la-créme of Houston's premier ladies, all of which outdone the other with their ensembles. Of course, St.John ruled, everybody was wearing it. From vintage to last year's to hot off Barbara LaGrange the racks, no doubt, Marie Gray was happy. The event raised in excess of $30,000, which is probably equivalent to the cost of owning several of the St.John pieces (shoes and accessories to match not included). But then, looking good does not come cheap, does it ladies! But a few of the beautiful, bejewelled, be-hatted and be-St.Johned guest were: Betty

"Bal du Cirque"
 Liz
Todd, Mia Smith, Phoebe Tudor, Betty Newton Yes, the circus was in town. No, not the kind of circus where you schlep the kids to, and are surrounded by clowns. Come to think of it, there was this one clown, dressed in a black tie costume, and you do know who you are, don't you dear ? No, my charitable cherubs, this was the Society for the Performing Arts hosting its 2000 Ball "BAL du CIRQUE", with the dramatic spectacle of the world-renowned CIRQUE INGENIEUX performing during the evening.
Phoebe
and Bobby Tudor-Ball Chairs With their usual glamour, splendor and style, Bobby and Phoebe Tudor served as chairs for the event, receiving universal acclaim for the tres elegant and exciting fundraiser that broke new ground. Among many of the beautiful, benevolent and bejeweled in attendance were: Mary and Tony Gracely, Elena and Gregg Davis, Elizabeth Morgan with Robert Jones, Cartier Manager Lydia Manley, Leticia and Steve Trauber, SPA Executive Director, Toby Elizabeth Morgan and Robert JonesMattox, Lynda and Bill Transier, Brenda and Marc Watts, Yvonne and Scott Ziegler, Houston City Councilman Mark Goldberg with Sharon Adams, Ginni and Richard Mithoff, Kimberly and Ron Gremillion and Harriet and Joe Foster.
